Biography Gjoko Antoniev

Gjoko Antoniev was born in 1973 in the city of Probistip, Macedonia, where he continues to live and create. Since 1998, he has been a member of DLUM – the Association of Macedonian Artists, contributing actively to the artistic scene with his distinctive style and expressive works.

Education

Antoniev’s artistic journey began at the Primary School “Braka Miladinovci” in Probistip. He later continued his studies at the School of Applied Arts “Lazar Lichenoski” in Skopje, Department of Graphics and Graphic Design. In 1997, he graduated as a graphic designer from the Faculty of Arts in Skopje, in the class of Professor Kostadin Tanchev – Dinka. His academic pursuit culminated in a Master of Arts degree in Graphics (2009), also at the Faculty of Arts in Skopje.

Professional Experience

Since 1996, Antoniev has worked as a Professor of Fine Arts at the Secondary School “Naum Naumovski – Borče.” Beyond teaching, his career includes significant artistic projects, such as his participation in 2002 in Meteora, Greece, where he painted frescoes and icons.

Certificates and Training

His dedication to education is complemented by numerous professional certificates, including projects supported by USAID (school assessment improvement, ICT integration, interactive teaching methodology), the Business Education Center (modernization in teaching), and FON University (application of EDUBUNTU educational software in teaching).

Awards

In recognition of his outstanding artistic achievements, Gjoko Antoniev was awarded the Great Graphic Award DLUM in 2000.

Through his paintings, graphics, and drawings, Antoniev combines tradition with modern expression. His work often reflects the Macedonian landscape, cultural identity, and the timeless dialogue between color, form, and emotion.
